Hello, I'm 21 (almost 22) years old student from Lithuania, 4th year in uni. That's enough for now about my background.

I decided to start a blog because i feel I'm loosing my game past few months and I need something to keep me motivated and somewhere I can bitch about my bad run or brag about a good run. Probably not many people will read this but whatever this will be mainly for my own good and helping my self. In case i do get some readers I will try to update as often as possible and keep my posts easy to read not putting to much useless talk ( maybe only this first post will have to many letters in it :P )

Poker life -> I knew how to play poker from my childhood, and when i turned 18 I registered to bwin poker and started playing some freerolls, somehow being a complete fish I managed to get my BR up to like ~200$, took out ~120$ to get drunk and left the other 80 to play. Needless to say i was busto in few weeks ( though without any coaching i think my BRM was ok, it's just that I was too big of a fish ).

~1year after i was broke on bwin, some students in my uni introduced me to a site called PokerStrategy.com , I completed the test and went to play on party poker as previously on bwin i was still playing only mtt's with very few shots at cash tables. Ran up my Br up to ~450$ I felt like a poker guru at that time, but when I hit a downswing I simultaneously hit mega tilt and went busto in few days _cry: _cry:

Some time after i gone busto, PartyPoker gave me 10$ I dont know for what, but i ran my BR up to ~470$ in like 2-3 weeks, being very careful i took out ~350$ and went busto again :f_cool:

Next time I played poker was when i got 2nd free starting capital from PS at WH, turned that 50$ into 800$ in ~4 week time. Took 600$ for me and 200$+50$( from PS TAF ) I deposited to FT, had a rough run there and when i had 100$ i moved to stars. Also switched to cash games and in ~6 weeks with bonus clearing, milestone cashes and FPP i had over 1200$ and then i got stuck and became a break-even player took out ~1000$ and decided to start from scratch with a good mindset.

So this where I am now, i tried switching from stars to 888 and back to WH but I find it very hard to play on these sites with my small screen notebook ( this sucks ) on stars I can manage 9 tables.

So my next poker chapter will be at stars starting with 150$ BR from NL5

This time I will admit I'm still a fish, I will read PS articles and watch videos, I will stop my sessions when I feel I'm playing bad and come here to talk about it or go do something else, I will not be results oriented

My stars giraffe follows next: most of it was played on NL10 some NL5 and ~6.5k hands on NL25 had 1 shot at NL50 won 1 BI in ~150hands :P but thats not in the graph, because it's beginners PokerTracker :P

this kinda sucks because i went from ~8-9BB/100 winner in first ~30K hands to ~3.15BB/100 after 75k I know it's a small sample size, but I feel i can sustain a ~5-6BB's/100 So I will try to do my best

It's already past 8PM so will not start CG session today, probably will watch few videos and maybe read few articles. Also i will play 8888$ freeroll on 888 with ~500-600 runners so maybe i will ship something, and I will find my self few tourneys in WH still have ~10$ on that platform :)

too bad I will not have much time to play because uni this year is kicking my ass

EDIT: Forgot to mention that i will be playing NL5 6max and graph provided in 1s post is only 6max game

Glad to see you starting a blog. It can be a great motivation / help for your poker career.

I am subscribed.

did you set any target / goals for the month or year to come?

No goals for october, because I need to see how much time I will be putting in. Hope my studies won't take all my time.

So for now it's to play as best as I can and see what volume I can expect for upcoming months. And I will set some goals for november,december,2012...

Having hard time with NL5, probably i will not move up as soon as I thought.
For some unknown reason it's infested with 10/8 , 8/7 nits would be fine, but I've ran horrible past two days

Yesterday

And today

At least i managed to climb up to green, won't be playing today, off to a homegame :)

I will try to find few interesting hands later, for now here is my last hand of the session ( finally won 1 )

Starting to wonder if I run really bad or I completely suck at poker, this is getting frustrating and my confidence... well I don't know what confidence means anymore :/ NL5 is actually much harder than NL10-25 for some reason

Would be nice to post few hands in to hand evaluation forum, but I i don't know how to find the hands in pokertracker that I marked for review.

though it's only the 3rd day I started NL5 grind and sample size is more like just sample without size, but still it hurts not to make progress.

Started session by playing and feeling good, but I had to end it soon enough because of the shit that kept happening

1st hand: Not much explanation needed from me on this one- value,value,value... oh shit! _confused:

PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

BTN: $13.41
SB: $5.02
BB: $7.10
UTG: $4.75
Hero (CO): $7.21

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero has A♠ K♠

fold, Hero raises to $0.15, fold, SB calls $0.13, fold

Flop: ($0.35, 2 players) 2♥ K♣ 2♦
SB checks, Hero bets $0.20, SB calls $0.20

Turn: ($0.75, 2 players) K♦
SB checks, Hero bets $0.45, SB calls $0.45

River: ($1.65, 2 players) A♦
SB bets $1.57, Hero raises to $5.45, SB calls $2.65 and is all-in

Spoiler

Hero shows A♠ K♠ (Full House, Kings full of Aces) (PreFlop 49%, Flop 0%, Turn 2%)SB shows 2♠ 2♣ (Four of a Kind, Twos) (PreFlop 51%, Flop 100%, Turn 98%)SB wins $9.59

2nd hand: It sucks so hard, I'm actualy loosing -4BB/Hand w KK. everything is pretty standart PF and on flop, i check back the turn for pot control and allow him to bluff his ace high floats, if he checks behind I put him on a ~66-TT and value bet the river, so I don't loose any value by checking on the turn because hes not calling 3 streets with underpair. The river min-raise seemed fishy, but worked out perfectly for him.

4th hand: no comment needed, still had combo draws in his range and QK QT I guess, so getting more than 1:3 on the turn had nothing else to do

UTG shows J♣ A♥ (Full House, Jacks full of Threes) (PreFlop 26%, Flop 91%, Turn 95%)
UTG wins $9.12

5th hand: I overbet the turn, so I can jam the river if he has something like Qx hes not folding anyway, and if he has draws I want him to pay the price and check behind any scary rivers. Did not go as planed for some reason I shoved on the end which does not make sense any more :)

Recently moved to new room - Everest Poker, could not handle being BE at stars, mind set issues :/ though i did play only few days. Now at least I can clear FDB and and that helps a little :)

First impression of the room = impossible to multitable, I can only do 6 tables at most and they are already falling off my desktop :) so not sure if I will stay at Everest after bonus clearing will be done

So far I suck at volume, and will suck even more since Im playing in everest now
Probably will set some hand number to hit next month, probably won't be much :/

What I've done at stars:

Everest last 1.3k hands played @ NL10 (+16.28$ from FDB)

Some boobies to make me happy:

Almost busto... keep loosing flips AA vs 73 :/ not moving down, will play NL10 to the end :)

Realized that poker is a waste of time ;( no matter how much you study the game or how good you think you play, variance does it all 4 you.

When I'll bust my BR, which is i think unavoidable I will give up grinding and poker will be a recreational hobby as it is supposed to be :)

Will post in this blog how this ends up for me. I guess it's no point in posting any more hands from my game, because they are all the same. Lady luck must really hate me
