Im looking to start a serious grind of 180 mans. I'll be mostly 9 tabling maybe throw in a few more. I am just looking for advice from anyone grinding these.

What sort of bankroll should i have?
Assuming im playing 1000 sngs a month what sort of profit can be attainable?
Can one achieve a good income from these or should they be a stepping stone to moving up?
Are there many Regs and at what time of day (W.E.T) would the Reg/Casual player ratio be at its most profitable?

Thnaks in advance

If you're good you can make around 150$ a month.

35-41% ROI isn't uncommon.

They are fine if you are mass multitabling. 12-18 tabling is worth it in these,
but moving up one stake is probably better.

reasonable amount of regs, but it doesn't matter much, theyre still very soft

btw turbs are deffo worth doing instead of the standard structure.

I read a thread on another site by a coach called Jennifear on how to manage a bankroll. For what its worth, she in my opinion would suggest that the minimum
Bankroll for a pro player is 200 and for recreational players you may cut this in half.
Now for the interesting bit (or at least I think so!!)
You remove 8% of your buyin (in this case $0.20) for every tourney you play.
Now if as suggested a ROI of 30%+ is ok your Broll will grow to the next level.
So as far as wages are concerned you could pay yourself the full 8%
ie 1K X0.20 =$200 and keep a managed growing bankroll.

Hope this helps or a least provokes some thoughts.

Mark

Hi guys,

I've moved your thread into the relevant poker board. Hope you don't mind.

yeah mark that is interesting...6 tabled a few today but no real results. I think the $3.50 rebuy might be a better option, maybe maintaining a BR of $600. Winning one of those gets from what ive seen around $500. I think thats very profitable if you can manage a win every 100 games or so which is very possible.

3,5 rebuys are best of all 180s. But you need at least $2,000 bankroll to play them, because your average BI in them will be ~$10,5 (cause we always rebuy at the start and buy an add-on) and swings >100 BIs are common.

Hi mate I don't really play rebuys because I can not tell how much the tournie is going to cost before hand ie how many rebuys? do I want the add on(probably!!)
If I was going to play these I would probably want a minimum of $650 in the bank. I would remove 8% after every game I played (including rebuy and add on)
and when my bank dipped below that amount I would look for another game.

Here is Jennifears recommendations (cut them in half at most)

Proper Bankroll Management Minimums:

$65 - $1.10 STTs
$87 - €1.10 STTs
$90 - $1.10 18-man
$128 - $1.10 45-man,
$130 - $2.20 STTs
$210 - $5.25 HU
$215 - $3.30 STTs
$270 - $6.25 HU
$357 - $5.50 STTs
$416 - $3.25 45-man
$420 - $10.50 HU
$422 - $6.50 STTs
$440 - $2.20 MTTs, $2.20 180-man
$495 - $3.30 90-man
$585 - $6.50 18-man
$596 - $5.50 27-man
$715 - $11 STTs
$780 - $12 STTs
$820 - $21 HU
$832 - $6.50 45-man
$880 - $4.40 MTT, $4.40 180-man
$975 - $6.50 90-man
$990 - $11 18-man
$1040 - $16 STTs
$1080 - $12 18-man
$1100 - $5.50 MTTs
$1300 - $6.50 MTTs, $12 27-man, $20 STTs

Here is the cashout bit:

Cashout strategy:

Pay yourself according to volume, not results.

Remove the following from your bankroll every time you play these games:

HU: 2% of your buyin
STTs: 3% of your buyin
18-man: 4% of your buyin
45-man: 5% of your buyin
90-man: 6% of your buyin
180-man/MTT: 8% of your buyin

You always want to rebuy/add-on(or you don't want to play these). This will lead to ~$10-$11 average BI and for 180mans, you want to have minimum 200 BI (and even then you still might need to move down)

Thats why I don't play them, because they are at least 3x what they appear to be.I have played them and people seem to go mental untill the unlimited rebuy period is over. So for some of them average rebuy is probably 5 or 6X.

This is exactly why, when you play instant-rebuy at the start for double stack + addon only, they become far more profitable than non-rebuys.

Non-rebuys will have only 180xbuyin prizepool.
Tournaments which have people who'll rebuy 5-6 times each, plus addon, has the same payout structure but far higher proportional prizepool.

Richard

OK so is the strategy no rebuys after that, or do you rebuy back in after getting a bad beat or coolered?

Just tick "Auto Double Rebuy" and "Auto Add-on" boxes :) I would also spew some chips sometimes just to get a rebuy and get back to full stack, like if i have 1600 chips, i would just do anything to get rid of 100 chips and then buy a rebuy :)
