Here is an example of a concept I am not fully understanding yet.
Pot size raises and when/how to do them.
Obviously we have a strong hand but it still needs to be protected. I would imagine this is a good opportunity to make a pot sized raise?
Should we use the following formula in all cases where we have a strong made hand and want to make a raise for value and protection?
Raise = Pot (including the current betting round) + 2 * opponent's bet.
Raise = 3.75 + (2*1.5) = 6.75
6.75 + 3.75 = 10.50 / 5.25 (to call) = 2:1 on call for villain?
It appears the following formula in the silver article would achieve the same result as above. So we can choose to use either method I guess
To make a pot size raise, raise to: 3 * size of opponent's bet/raise + size of pot before your opponent's bet/raise was made.
