Im not a password expert but i think 8 characters is pretty secure it doesnt have to be narrowed down to an 8 letter word or a 7 letter word with a 1 on the end ♦ it can be part of a word or part of a word backwards or a couple of letters with a series of numbers i dunno.
I dunno but i've always felt pretty safe using their software.

You could definitely point them into this direction, by sending them an email and let them know your concerns.
Try to break 8 sings password using diffrent software from net and you will see if it's easy. It is not.
Usually when somebody's account is stolen is because a thief pretends that he is you.
Recently I have read about such incidents on 2+2 forum.
Just watch where you have your password and if you dont feel safe , just change it every 2 months , my friend is doing that.
If your pass gets stolen it doesn't matter how long it is. Best protection would be implementing RSA tokens like on pokerstars.
