Since i have not seen any news on this matter so far i thought of starting this thread.

What are your thoughts on this? Seems like a strange structure, just looked one blinds starting @ 50/100/10 with a starting stack of 2k.

New world for push-and-shove all the time?

I tried a 30m timed one once, even then the blinds were getting big really fast, but I've looked at the like 180min ones, and they have the same speedy blind structure, where even 30 mins in, blinds are like 250/500 or so.

Intresting hand that cooked me out of the tournament:

PokerStars - $3+$0.30|150/300 NL (9 max) - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

CO: 6,710.00
Hero (BTN): 2,310.00
SB: 3,740.00
BB: 1,460.00
UTG: 4,440.00
UTG+1: 2,475.00
MP: 2,160.00
MP+1: 7,680.00
LP: 5,670.00

CO posts ante 30.00, Hero posts ante 30.00, SB posts ante 30.00, BB posts ante 30.00, UTG posts ante 30.00, UTG+1 posts ante 30.00, MP posts ante 30.00, MP+1 posts ante 30.00, LP posts ante 30.00, SB posts SB 150.00, BB posts BB 300.00

Pre Flop: (720.00) Hero has A♠ K♣

fold, fold, MP raises to 600.00, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 2,280.00 and is all-in, fold, fold, MP calls 1,530.00 and is all-in

Flop: (4980.00, 2 players) Q♦ 7♣ T♥

Turn: (4980.00, 2 players) 9♥

River: (4980.00, 2 players) 4♠

MP shows K♦ K♥ (One Pair, Kings) (Pre 70%, Flop 72%, Turn 84%)
Hero shows A♠ K♣ (High Card, Ace) (Pre 30%, Flop 28%, Turn 16%)
MP wins 4,980.00

I mean range is pretty fishy when we got the min-raise for 1/3 of the stack, however i dont think we get a choice here much often. Blinds were pretty huge and i have been moved to a table from HJ to UTG+1 :f_biggrin:

I still got the lobby open to have a rough idea of how much prize gets splitted all the way, tournament has still 15 minutes left. Still a pretty hard structure, but hard to debate on pros and cons here, doesnt seem very profitable for me.

Isn't it just a cash game (with antes) that they decided to call a tournament?

Only if it is a crazy SSS maybe... 15 minutes in the tournament and that was i had left. Seems more like a tournament for shortstackers.

i think the 180min ones might be quite good, going for the win always, as when fish would make mistakes deep in tournament it would cost them a shit load and you directly win. Well thats just my opinion, tried the 30 min ones, seems like a waste of time

Just played a 15 minute $1.10 micro timed to try and get my head around the concept.
1500 chips
3 x 5 minute levels =
50/100 ante10
100/200 ante20
150/300 ante30

With less than 10 BB effective 1st level it is a complete shove fest first few hands. Is this the right play, or would I be right to wait for monster hand(= pair) first 2 levels, with the guarantee of a call when you push?

Seems like the right strategy could give a huge ROI if played right.

Any Ideas?
