I would have folded to any river bet and I know I should just have folded when i didn't hit my set but I actually thought I was ahead here. He always fired again on the turn

Hello clandestineAl,

You will never play this way profitable in long run if you Call 2 streets. Myself I'd most likely just Bet myself on flop to protect from any overcards and avoid them Checking behind or just folding it directly either on turn or maybe even on flop unless I expect them to even CB there with a lot of hands.
