not too sure about my raise on the turn vs his range. i put him on top pair type hand or over pair. so i'm thinking that what ever comes on the river i've most likely got him beat, so am thinking that a call on the turn would be better.

on the river he either ch/c a 1/2 pot sort of bet or he barrels again and i raise AI, with this line i just scare him away.

does this make any sense?

Hello tofu22,

While he seems to be even a reasonable player I guess I'd just flat on the turn. There ain't that many draws from which we should be scared of. And I am pretty sure that such a player is even able to Bet/Fold just some weak pairs or overpairs even.

Best Regards.
