I have a $45 Discount + $10 Credit, so it seems silly not to pay for the update...
My Question is, I can link my HEM upgrade to PS to get points or something? Or is that only for new customers?

Don't upgrade. The savings aren't worth the fact that HM2 is still in the alpha, maybe beta, phase of the development. It has a lot of bugs and crashes quite often and furthermore it is still quite slow.
