Agree with drachdudek, generally callingranges in the SB are weighted towards broadway hands so unless he's bluffcheckraising a lot this is a good spot to cbet since his range misses the board.

On the river our hand looks really weak and there are only a few Ahx in his range, so I'm calling, too (nutflushes would usually even make it smaller to get a call from smaller flushes or 9x).

Wouldn't he play 68:h, 99, 77, 55 and 33 the same way?

He definitely fold 68s preflop, and imo if BB is a reg PPs don't call either because they get squeezed too often.

And even if he has some combos of PPs, it's still just a part of his range.
