CO: $5.78 (144.5 bb)
BTN: $9.77 (244.2 bb)
SB: $4.88 (122 bb)
BB: $5.40 (135 bb)
Hero (MP): $4.24 (106 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 3 3
Hero raises to $0.16, CO folds, BTN raises to $0.48, 3 folds

Results: $0.38 pot
BTN mucked and won $0.38 ($0.22 net)

Our opponent on the button has the following stats:
VP/PFR/AF/3bet/hands 35/29/2.0/25/17

The sample size is extremely small but still it creates some minor suspicions that he is a LAG and might be also 3betting light. Since we can't tell it yet because of the small sample size, does it make sense to openraise 33 in this spot?

pretty small hand sample to get to crazy with 33s. his numbers are high on the 3 bet range but still....probably a good fold until you know play more hands with him.

Hello Avatars91,

Seems to be fine to open the 33 here and I don't mind on those stakes. You most likely getting paid anyways if you hit big time.

Best Regards.

The problem in this hand is the potential LAG on BU.
If we were confident that he 3bets very often in that spot, would we have openraised this hand?

Then rather not, then I'd just fold the hand. Unless I know his 3bet sizing patterns and other people behind him who might be loose.

If he indeed was such a LAG and we would have to fold 33s, what should our openraising range look like and how would we react to him 3betting?

For that of course once again I would need a very large article. :) To write all that kind of stuff down. I would advice to stick to the articles as long I see you are interested in all kind of question. But I don't of course mind that and which is even very good. :) But just understand me as well, I can't write you the whole story about how to play any specific hand and range against specific opponent. :(

Most likely against those 17 hands I would go broke with the range I would usually go broke vs unknown.

Don't worry about that. You can ask how much you want. :)
