should I ever call his bluff 4bet? What about if A hits the board?

Hello wnbMG,

Depends really how often we expect him to CB and 4bet in those spots. But overall it ain't wrong to 5bet and go broke, we might even avoid him to go for 4bet next time. But as well you can trap him by the flat but more often I'd prefer to have position against him.

Then we can reevaluate our actions. If you want to pick the safest option then just go broke. :) If you don't know how to play postflop if an Ace hops in. But there ain't that many Aces.
