Hi, guys, the supernova status in the past, if you made it by Dec 31, it was avaiable for all the following year wasnt it ? now I made it, and it says its valid untill FEB 29 2012. thats 2 months only. wtf is this ?

It always was like that. You need to make over 7.5 VPPs each month to maintain it after February.
"After becoming a Supernova VIP, we will extend your status in the following year on a month-by-month basis from January through the end of September, provided you continue to earn at least 7,500 VPPs every month, missing no more than one month of 7,500 VPP accrual. The only way to be a Supernova VIP from October 1-December 31 is to have earned 100,000 VPPs in the same calendar year."

Look at it on the bright side: 2012 is leap year so you have up to 29th february and not 28th

or even darker: doesn't matter how many vpp's you earn you'll enjoy it only up to 21.12
