I actually like the c/r plan, cause i do it alot and it works.

I'm no pro but i say you played it well.

i would call on the river, unless he s ultra agressive, because it's likely he has KQ and made his runner runner straight which would explain check on turn but this a far-fetched read.
maybe he'd also do that with AT AJ really hard to say whithout seeing the guy play, especially in HU

what was the result ?

give some info or history about villain cuz is very important hu . is he aggressive / passive ? did you 3 beted him alot ? how does he responds to 3bets ? can he flat JJ - AA ? can he call light like 24s ?

villain generally pretty straightforward-aggressive. plays top pair hands like they're the nuts.

yes i've 3bet him, but no, not a lot.

i can't pin him on a flatcall range pre, he hasn't 4bet yet. i don't imagine he's calling too tight preflop.

he had KQ. but i think even with AK, he raises river and calls my push so... question is really whether the c/c c/r bet plan was viable

Well, I'd bet out somewhere, but that's because im extremely aggressive HU (ask swissmoumout). A check from me would've been very suspicious. I think if you're not that aggressive, slowplaying through all streets is fine.

well if you have that read i am very inclined in calling the river because if he has an ace here and he plays it like a very strong hand after his scared bet on the flop he would certainly go for value with top pair on the turn not for pot control so i am more inclined to remove top pair( or two pair a10 aj ) from his range so i may think he can do this with a better set or a straight

he'll go crazy with JT, et al. also.. doesn't need top two! :P.

in fact, i think he'd play KJ, QJ, possibly even KT, QT the same way..

No way you can fold this in a HU game. He may have 2 pair that he thinks is raising for value.
I'd bet the flop btw Since you were the preflopagressor it's very suspicious that you don't bet here, at least for me.

i sort of autopilot-assumed that i'd flatcalled someone's 3bet, and that i should take the c/c c/r line.

optimal line for me i think would be bet flop, bet turn, shove river if he called. or bet/call flop, check/raise turn, shove river if he raised me.

yep. I would almost never check after 3-betting.
