Reads on Vilain: UTG vs me BB w ATo no CBet F and T on Q95r,A

From the read I have that he doesn't necessarily CBet vs me, his line looks even more polarized.
Overall he seems quite aggro so I decided to Ck/C 3 streets but I wasn't quite sure with his overbet on the river.
To him that his pretty obvious that I bluff catch/have a medium hand. Also because I 3B AA,KK,AK.
To get value he could bet 2/3 pot. Is he trying to get me off my hand or does he think I will call anyways?

Would you call a 2/3 pot on river?

He probably was doing that for value since if he's raising from CO that board smashes his 2pair range, with Ax types of hands guess he knew he was trying to get value from you trying to overbet river and trying to lvl you. Anyhow I would've just folded in this spot. One thing you could of done is just called in order to receive information, if hes bluffing you win, if you lose you can take that information of his Overbetting river with Nuts/2pair/air as extra +EV in the long run. Especially if he's a reg fish at the limits ur playing.

I think u have to call that river bet, otherwise turn call is bad. In most cases ppl will 3barrel or cbet flop/give up on this board texture. I rather call this than 3/4. His range is more polarized and he can't have hands like AJ. U usually can't have anything better than Ax here and he wants u to fold it imo.

Your hand looks like Ax and most people dont like folding top pair.

This makes me inclined to fold as I dont think he chooses to bluff on this kind of board.

The only problem is our range is sorta capped. We dont really have any 2 pairs in our range and only 6 combos of sets that we have slow played. Which in theory vs some opponents makes his overbet as a bluff good.

He also has a nice wide value range here considering he can raise all the Axs from the CO and also could have cbet 33 OTF and turned gin.

Pre I 3bet if he calls a lot of 3bets.
I'm calling flop and folding turn.
Also if you have any sort of dynamics, I can easily see him doing the overbet with AQ+.

I'd usually 3bet this right away since he's playing back quite a bit probably.
As played it's a c/f on the flop to me.
He has all suited Ax and most offsuit ones in his range.
Additional to that he's not even cbetting too light vs you, so his range is even stronger.

hahaha, seriously? C/F flop? wooooow, did you stop playing poker in 2008? or in some mystical year when it was correct to fold A high flops because there were aces in villain's range?

imo turn is a very clear C/F. C/C might be right vs some opponents, but you need some strong reads/a strong feeling, and C/Cing turn here just sets you up to get destroyed overall, as his value range is potentially un-capped while all you can have is 77 and some medium strength hands/bluff-catchers. so without knowing which level villain is on/how he reacts to weak ranges, i don't think you should calldown.

but why am i even commenting in a thread where the judge says C/F flop OMG WHAT IS GOING ON

edit: is the mod CallumN the low/mid-stakes 888 reg CallumNoble??

I also agree w ppl that says Ck/C flop and Ck/F Turn for the reasons mentionned by them i.e bad board for him to continue bluffing, my range is capped, his not. I would need wayyyy more reads to call down this.

As for the flop I don't think I can Ck/F it tbh because he is going to CBet a lot on this board.

As for the river overbet I am still unsure, I have asked many ppl and I get 50-50 to call/Fold but it doesn't matter that much since we should fold earlier.

fwiw i think i'm still folding river even if i called turn. we just called a huge bet on a completely blank turn, why should villain think we are folding river? we just can't be sure enough

In 2008 this was probably more of a c/c than nowadays.
I could understand your post if it wasn't for the following:

I'm not sure on what kind of mystical site you're playing where people are nicely passive, but nowadays 2nd barrels are kind of a standard play, so by c/c-c/f you let them exploit you pretty hard ;).

The problem with the c/c on the flop is, that they're either bluffing again in which case we (and you apparently) c/f.
And if they happen to check back what's your plan for the river?
We can't valuebet because there's no worse hand calling so we check and hope for a free SD?

If I c/c flop and they check back turn and bet river. Is it a nice spot to turn our hand into a bluff?

Really depends how good the guy is but most players arent going to give us credit for turning Kx into a bluff so will just bet fold AT otr vs a crai

c/f the flop would be a huge mistake too imo, its c/o vs blind.

But yeah +1 to everyone wanting to 3bet pre. If you aren't 3betting KQss you range must be extremely polarised, and vs a guiy who is going to defend alot its definitely good to have good broadways.

We can't check back, we're oop.

Dunno but I don't like the plan of check/calling the flop with 2nd pair and only backdoor draws with the hope of the opponent being passive enough to check down and the backup-plan to turn our hand into a bluff in a spot where we can't rep much except a slowplayed AK/KK/AA.
