Best way to get advice in my opinion is to ask lots of questions, about anything, dont worry about it being a "stupid question" the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask 
Whilst your waiting for the starting capital have you been reading the strategy articles to give you an advantage when you hit the tables?
Also though start exploring the forums get used to the layout post in some threads get to know some people
