Villain is 57/29.

I think the checkraise on the flop was a good idea but I don't understand the call of the villain. If he had top or middle set he should have reraised, with a FD he didn't get the odds (and he's missing the A) and anything lower should have folded.

So I assume he has a K/Q FD and he ignores the odds so I fire a second barrel on the turn and to my surprise he calls again. I don't have clue wtf is going on anymore but since the river didn't complete any draws I shove and he folds.

I have no clue if my turn/river play was any good.

You are overplaying the nutflushdraw here OOP. You basically also isolate yourself against only the 2nd nutflushdraw since other FDs will fold.

I would lead the Flop because I believe UTG has a weak range that likes to call more than betting

As played I wouldn't be surprised if he called you down with something weird.

This is NLHE thinking, you block AA** but JJ** without any decent flushdraw will just bet/call and probably crycall down

NLHE:

Board: A♣8♥J♥
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    41.22%  41.22%   0.00% { Q:hT:h }
MP3    58.78%  58.78%   0.00% { 88 }

PLO:

Board: A♣8♥J♥
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    56.07%  55.77%   0.30% { Q:hT:hK:c9:c }
MP3    43.93%  43.63%   0.30% { JJ** }

MP2    56.56%  56.38%   0.18% { Q:hT:hK:c9:c }
MP3    43.44%  43.26%   0.18% { 88** }

Check/call the river.

No worse hand will call if you bet, no better hand will fold. If villain does have a busted draw he may decide to bluff shove this river so snap him off.

Gerv said everything else that was relevant.
