I have little bit similar question as above. I believe you were thinking about playing high stakes sngs at PokerStars and did some calculations and so on, so do you think it is more profitable to play 100+ stakes (obv with some 60s to have enough volume) thn playing low/mid stakes with solid volume? I didnt try it on my own but I did some observations and there are almost no 100+ turbo 9mans running, so I would have to play 6max, 18mans, probably 45mans, both turbo and normal and select and select and select. With enormous swings that I would most definitely have because of very low ROI, do u think it is more profitable? TO be concrete - I can make about 4k$ at 15$ ABI a month (last 5 months). I have roll and backer, but I am still not sure I would make much more at higher stakes and consistantly. It would make sense only if I had positive ROI and I made Supernova Elite, so the profit would mostly come from rakeback. What is your opinion, did you think about movin up there and whats your observations, calculations...

have similar concerns to wasy8. since full tilt 's demise (no more fixed % rakeback), has volume goals become much more important that you will sacrifice on table selection often? This is in relation to the fact that all the rakeback deals now are vip program based where hitting certain monthly volume targets greatly improves your rakeback / roi.

How in general has it changed your approach to grinding on stars vs full tilt before this?

I have just started taking SnGs seriously and have always been a standard speed player.

At the micro $7s & $15s which would be best to play?

Turbo payers get crazy earlier, perhaps I just need to man up and get in there

I figure I must be crap at sng's... I've played about 5k in different formats (STT, DON, MTT, HU) and basically, I lose apart from the odd upswing even though I feel that I'm playing better than my opponents... we're talking micro stakes here lol. What gets me though, is at micro limits I'm a winning CG player and it seemed that more often than not these losing sng sessions were mostly me shoving and being called by worse and being knocked out over and over again.

So my question... Just how big do the swings get for a winning player and what is the best approach to learning ICM? ICM is the thing I never fully understood but I still hit 95%+ in the ICM trainer over hundreds of hands... ? I guess I'm wondering whether I am indeed crap at sng's or if I've just run really badly lol

1. I'm wondering if you consider Stars a Reg-Infested site? At what point (in terms of BI - $15, 30$ etc) you think Regs start to affect one's winrate considerably on this poker room? Would you recommend PS SNG griding over any other bankroll-building method?

2. What does one need to proceed through Reg-infested stakes with a good ROI?

3. What stats do you recommend a player to have on their hud in SNGs? Does your advice differ much across stakes?

4. I'd also like to hear about common SNG beginners' mistakes.

How do achievable ROIs compare between turbo and non-turbo 9-man STTs? Are 6-man STTss more or less profitable than the 9-mans, at both turbo and non-turbo? Can you give your own ROIs at these different structures?

How many tables do you play at once, and how do you manage this - in sets, continuously, a mix of both? How many sets (if applicable) and how many hours a day, and how many days a week, do you play? How many weeks per year do you allow yourself to take off as holidays?

When are the best times of day and days of the week to play?

What skills are needed at, say, the $30 STTs that are unnecessary for the $15s? And similarly, for progressing from the $30s to the $60s?
