i really never thought about situations like this and pushed right away... i don´t want them to fold their ui AK or their TT-KK when an A comes up or something like that.

yer but your playing $16 9/10 a reraise means they are calling a shove, I don't think I have seen anyone at low limits fold a rereraise. So why not get your money in when your a 5-1 fav?

and your letting callable hands like 1010,JJ,QQ,AK get away from there hands if the flop brings overs or rags.

protection is not the only reason for betting. bet for value! try to get villan allin why you are absolute fav.

err, i also call in this spot. my reasoning is deception. do i really want them to be able to nail my range to exactly KK+???!?!?!?!

The problem with a call here is, that you can't balance it, there is no other Hand you would call here.
So you are giving a freecard and you are committed to the pot, regardless if he gets his set or not on the flop, and if AK misses the flop he will fold postflop, and it is very unlikely QQ or JJ will fold preflop, unless he is a thinking player and when he is one he will fold postflop.
IMHO you are shouting you I have AA and you are making his postflop fold an easy one.

yup :)

btw, disclaimer: he was a regular, not a very good one, but w/e. I won't make it a habit, but I think this is doable in position, at least your sure you gonna get a c=bet too, so you win a guaranteed 700 with this hand, while me might 3bet a bit lighter then to an UTG raise, and I'm afraid he'll fold to a 4bet to often in this spot.

well i do balance it out by always calling KK.

also, sometimes (for a lot less though), i will call 3bets with AK in position.

QQ and JJ are rarer. i would fold JJ to such a big bet, and QQ i'd probably shove over such a big bet. if he raised smaller, i'd be calling 99 and JJ sometimes for set value. (i'm looser than the rest of you, i know)

but in any case, this opens my range up in this spot a lot more than just shoving pre...

btw:
imo it would be very helpfull to post where the hand comes from (XX$ sng). because if this were a hand from a 6$ sng (i know that he is playing higher) i would stand up, point my finger at you and start laughing as soon as you start talking about line balancing ^^

this is a SNG, not Cashgame, you can't call with JJ here, and it would be a tough and IMHO bad play to do it with QQ and AK, and hence you have KK or AA in 90% (or more) in these spots
but when I shove here, I will sometimes show JJ+ and AK, not against that good player, but against some weak players, and I don't think they will be able to see the difference.

But even without balancing, I can't see why calling is better, a good player is allowed to see a freecard and fold if he doesn't like it, a bad player wont care and will fold if he has 99 and the flop is AQ7 and you C/R and both would have called you mostlikely preflop, because the good player can't be sure and would have a strong hand with his reraise, and the fish won't care.

i line balance at 15+1. there are enough regulars watching.

Nick , dont know why you did not push preflop after his reraise

if he has Ks its unluck but chances are that he has AK but good luck getting back into the sng's , still never understand how you guys play 10+ at a time

you made me lol
SRY, but you have no idea how bad these players and "regulars" are.
You may play the way you want, but to call here isn't an increase in value. IMHO
