Thank you for your warm welcome. I am currently studying in Portsmouth, originally from a small town in surrey, and am in my final year of studying.

In regards to the Bankroll management, I believe $625(25 BI's) is what is sufficient, however I don't think it will be long before I reach this, and would probably stay on .5/.10 for an extra month after reaching $625. Is this being too risk averse?

I am currently enjoying playing on Everest despite some altercations we had at the beginning. And i think their loyalty scheme is quite rewarding, and a good mix of fish and regs. Therefore I am only leaving to take advantage of first deposit bonuses. Currently I would be most likely to join Bwin or Titan Poker, however I am very open to suggestions if anybody has any.

I think iPoker use NL20 rather than NL25, just as a side note.

I don't really object to wanting to feel comfortable you're beating your level before moving up to be honest.

BRM is all good and fine, but moving up before you feel ready isn't really a good to do it "because I have the roll". I believe our dear fellow Moderator MattDenness is also rolled for NL25 but waiting til he has a good winning sample to see whether his actual wins are a heater or proper beating NL10 before moving up.

On that note, I believe he's on Isle of Wight and semi-frequently goes into the casino in Portsmouth for visits, maybe I'll ask him to drop by and leave a message for you here, crushing is more fun with company!

Don't have any personal experience yet with the Everest, but the Titan VIP scheme is great and the FBD is awesome rakeback equivalent. Should be able to do quite well there if you jump right in at NL20+! If memory serves, the Bwin VIP scheme is quite good for SNG micro stakers, but not so excellent for cashgames in my experience, since they use the Essence rake distribution system.

You could always drop a post in Choosing the right Poker Room for you! , our dedicated thread for helping find new poker rooms for members who are uncertain. CallumN is doing an excellent job there trying to find the perfect fit for everyone!

As fruktpuff pointed, I'm in the same boat as you, currently rolled for NL25, but I wish to beat NL10 first (Got a couple of allright MTT cashes) Or at least put in a good sample that shows I'm not just on some kind of Hot-Streak at least.

Have you ever been to the Casino in Gunwarf? I go quite often, well. Try to at least. Weve had a little group up there from PokerSrategy too, only 3 of us in total, but we have another interested, and maybe you for the next one?

hello, thanks for your post regarding NL25. Is there any theory regarding the differnces between nl20 and nl25 that you are aware of?

I have also had a look at the essence rake system, thank you. From what I understand it rewards players for playing against higher caliber players and less for fish. I hope this is correct.

Hello, great to hear from another nl10 player. Congratulations on your blog, i had little peruse earlier and has gathered quite a following.

I have not been to the casino in Gunwharf, however I have been to the fratton poker room on fratton road. To be honest I have very little live experience, and the £20 buy ins have always been above my bankroll. I am also not sure of the standard of the players either. I must balls up and go sometime. What is the standard of player in Gunwharf?

Been busy with uni stuff, so only had time for one session last night. However this was an extended session due to running deep in the Everest chip and chair, eventually tilting out in 5th place for a meager $5.85. Not a bad return on $1 investment though.

Like I say, last night was an extended session, as I have been trying to play poker only in 1 hour slots, mainly to prevent fatigue. However I finished last nights session 186 big blinds up, recording a tidy little profit.

As you can see my play became very stale towards the end of the session.

There weren't too many notable hands. This one however i could/should have played differently. At the time, i thought a lot of his range had me beat. At the time I believed he was very strong.

You should definitely visit the Casino in Gunwarf sometime, £20 is above most peoples MTT Bankroll, but Its more of a Night out, where you get to play Poker too, I bet you spend more ££ on other stuff?

The standard of players is not great at all, The tourney gets a good 30 runners, most of them like to think their awesome when infact, they're awful. Play standard ABC poker, you can walk all over them most of the time
I'm not an amazing MTT player by all means, but do well in their MTT's, even my dad has played in one before, he got 2nd & has only played about 10 Online Micro MTT's total, if he can do it, anyone can ♠_cool: ♠_cool:

Thank you for the polite follow, as you have noted this blog has become extrememly neglected. This was unfortunately due to the fact poker has not been a priority in my last few months of my final year at uni. However saying that it has not been completely neglected, here is a quick update.

Completed my time at everest poker and decided the next place for to play was WPT poker.And have not been proved wrong, this is a great place to play. One caveat is that the bonus was only for $500 therefore this allowed me to cash out some dollar at that point.

This is when my financial situation hit a decline and was forced to withdraw everything i had earned on top of this. Had almost enough bankroll for NL50. Withdrew it so I had the bankroll to play NL10. However this is also not safe from withdrawal.

So where I am now is, I finish uni on thursday, and will be playing poker again. I am interested in playing cash games, and following moshmans husng videos, will be attempting to see if I can garner an edge in these.

Hello Everybody

I have completed my degree!!!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyyyyy.

Which on a more serious note means that I have more time to play poker, when not looking for a job. Speaking of which, if any of you know of any graduate level positions, I would be most welcome to hear from you.

On the subject of poker, I have played 9000 hands this month on NL10 and am currently winning 22bb/100. The most important reason for this winning total is most likely the fact that my non showdown winnings is no longer a steady decline, looking mor elike a straight line now.

I am currently reading the poker blueprint as well, and finding the book to be really helpful for defeating these lower limits. I have included below my graph for this month.

Waw you have a real nice win rate so far! It's a small sample, but still! I've got 15k hands on nl10 and running @ -2,68bb/100 But I don't worry to much about that. Eventually I'll make profit!
After 30k hands on nl6 with a win rate of 8,3bb/100 I can't keep losing on nl10!
