soooooo Hello to everyone and welcome to my blog.
I'm Alex, i'm 22 yo physics student and i come from Greece. You know this beautiful country with the beautiful sun etc etc and so many empty wallets.
Let's talk about poker now. i started poker 4 or 5 years ago just for fun with friends and kinda liked it a lot. so 3 years ago i decided to get into the world of poker. a friend of mine told me about Full Tilt poker and how awsome it is.So i created an account and deposited 30$. ofc my knowledge at this time was zero. deposited 30$ and started playing some cash FR NL5. ofc it was just out of BRM but back then i didnt even know what BRM means. so after a couple of days i was broke. redeposited 20$ and gave my luck another chance. managed to build a 200$ BR out of NL2,NL5 and 18 and 27man SnGs.i cashed out my 50$ and tilted the remaining 150$ @Rush poker.so i was broke for 3rd time. after about a month i decided to get more serious and googled for poker sites, training sites etc. and here comes pokerstrategy! i gotta admit that this site changed the word "Poker" in my mind. So after registering on PS, i read a lot of basic+bronze articles and deposited 50$ on FT again. managed to build it to 150$ from NL2 FR and then switched to 9-man SnG and some mixed rush to end up with an about 400$ BR locked in full tilt. yeap that's FULL TILT for me. and those money were very important to me. anyways i got my starting capital at PartyPoker and managed to grow it to 100$. then i was bored of their software and got my BR to pokerstars where i had already an account (didnt even know how long ago and couldnt be tracked from PokerStrategy.com
)
i started grinding the 1.5$ 9-man turbos and mix it up with some NL2,NL5 FR and grew it up to 220$. then i had to cash out 170$. so i found myself with a 50$ BR again! took a break and after some months started again but without such volume. i started playing 0.5$ 45/90-man turbos till about 90$ BR then took a break again and here we are again.
so by this time i have read all bronze and silver articles on the site and watched a lot of bronze and silver videos. i bought me the poker mindset book which i have only completed only the 1 chapter and then stoped reading it. don't know why. lack of motivation for poker maybe.
till now there are two big debates in my head about what type of SnG do i want to play. so after some thoughts i decided that:
#1:
i can't stand turbos' variance. after #874 tourneys 1.75$ Turbos Net Winnings: -44.5$ , EV: +33.88$ . thats about 78$ gap.
So i'm gonna stick to regulars.
#2:
it is about STT or MTT (45/90/180)
again variance changed my mind and i decided to start with 9man and maybe if i feel comfortable enough can sometime switch to 90 and 180.
about a month ago i tried to contact with <3 and bigniux to see if they could help me decide what type it's best for me but had no luck. didnt got any answer @Skype
so the reason i started this blog is
1) to motivate me and give me strenght to grind and give volume.
2) to track my progress.
3) to give/get advice/help from fellow stategists.
i'm not gonna put march goals just because there are some family issues and right now im at my parents' house for a couple of days.
My Setup is 1 Dell 23" 1920x1080 Wide (i was on the poker break when i bought it and it was a mistake i should buy the 24inch so that i could tile 9 tables without overlaping) and a LG 22" wide TV/Monitor. i usually tile 6 tables on dell and another 4 on LG for a total of 10 tables. will try manual resizing on dell to fit 9 tables so i can Multitable 13 tables.
to start with, i want from you guyz to suggest me material to read. anything. Books, videos, articles. anything that could help me improve my game and make me feel comfortable. i don't feel like reading again the silver articles (which i did long time ago) so i need new material. im thinking of buying SnG Strategy by Moshman. what's your opinion ? Will it help me ?
so my 1.5$ SnG Graph so far is like this :
