Question 1: What is your motivation for playing poker?

Nothing fancy here, I just really like poker! I like the pattern that arrives out of something that's supposedly random, and I love trying to get inside players' heads.

What are your weaknesses when playing poker?

One of my weakness I think is associated with the fact that I love trying to figure out the other person is think. Too often this leads to situations like "Well, I think he has this range, so if I bluff here, i'll take the pot! .... Hmmm, he called, must be a calling station! He could never call a bet twice! I'll double barrel..... What - he re-raised?.... He must have seen through my bluff!! ... I'll just go all in! ♦ .....

I have a constantly battle between my ABC poker and the tricky side looking for adrenaline and an edge.

Apart from that, I understand the basics of the mathimatics of poker, but as yet have been too lazy to apply them propperly, apart from "ooh, that's a small bet with a caller, I can play my draw". I'd like to start actively calculating odds and outs at the table.

What does it mean to play tight aggressive?

Tight aggressive means playing with a small range of cards, and raising/betting frequently. As you are tight, you are frequently ahead in EV. [Value] When you miss the flop, you can often take the pot with a continuation bet, helped by your tight image. Further, even when you hit top pair, you make sure your opponents have to pay to play their draws. [Protection]

Most of the weakness you wrote can easily be fixed by posting hands (analyzing your session). We will start writing feedback to your play. Usually negative feedback will put you into thinking phase and trying to fix all those leaks. It's almost the same as you lose money, you will remember it more than winning part. By this situation it's gonna be that negative feedback you gonna remember and try to avoid them next time.

What about tilt? Do you adjust something against it? For example:
Easiest way to fight against tilt is to set up stop-loss technique. Which means if you for example have lost more than 3BIs for a session then you just stop the session for some time. The BI amount is set up from your own results. Some may put it higher, some lower. Also after the stop you can spend some time with evaluation part to become better.

Tight style is usually called playing selected hands. Like following the Starting Hand Chart. Aggressive should be also pretty clear that already the word says how you should be playing. But the problem playing aggressively is that you have to watch that you don't play too aggressive. Find good spots, find good targets. Thanks for the reply! Your right, I "hadn't bothered" until now to set-up a stop-loss, I thought I could handle the varience, but why take the risk right ;)?

Anyway, though I definitely want to come back to BSS, I've decided that I should learn to beat/crush with MSS first; I guess breaking even on NL2/NL5 probably means I still have a lot left to learn!

That's really nice mate, keep it up! MSS is also great, especially if you enjoy playing it but myself I prefer really to play deeper and not just play the robotic game, used to play SSS and switched to BSS. Although switching was long-long time ago. ♦
