Hi. Still alive and struggling through .5/1. I've been using my learning time to read articles for the last weeks but now I'll try to post some hands before Elephant updates clear my tagged hands (again).

Stats are broken in Elephant so I'm leaving them out.

1) 0.5/1 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.41 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is CO with 8♠, 7♠. MP1 posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 checks, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, Hero calls, BU folds, SB calls, BB checks.

Flop: (6.00 SB) K♠, Q♦, 9♠ (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP3 3-bets, Hero calls, SB calls, UTG+2 calls.

Turn: (9.00 BB) J♣ (4 players)
SB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero calls, 2 folds.

River: (11.00 BB) 8♦ (2 players)
MP3 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 13.00 BB

Can I raise turn here or just call for my outs?
Besides, call or fold river? I usually stick to the "If on the river you have any pair, even if it isn't the top pair or better, and you only have one opponent, you should call his bet in any case" rule and the pot was quite big here.

2) 0.5/1 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.41 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q♠, Q♥
4 folds, MP3 raises, CO folds, BU calls, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, MP3 caps, BU calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (13.00 SB) 5♥, 4♣, 3♣ (3 players)
Hero bets, MP3 raises, BU calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (9.50 BB) J♣ (3 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets, BU calls, Hero calls.

River: (12.50 BB) J♠ (3 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets, BU calls, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 15.50 BB

I think I could raise turn here but what do I do if MP3 3-bets?

3) 0.5/1 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (10 handed)

I got really scared of slowplaying opponents for some days.

More hands to come (tomorrow)

1) Don't even raise the flop. You only isolate yourself against the opponent with the pair. Turn the same. And fold the river. Delete that rule from your head whereever you got that from. ;)

2) 3-bet flop. Nearly alway stay aggressive if you have a good hand and you are out of position. You can calldown to a cap.

3) Same hand as 1). :)

1) That means call flop, call turn, fold river, doesn't it?
Basic articles - Turn and River play - Page 4

2) Understood.

3) That was easy :P (one day I'll master C&P) Try again.

1) The rule is good if you how no clue about the game but you should be able to judge the hand now. :) Just look at the board. He can't have not hit a pair here. ;)

3) I like a turnbet more. MP3 has no K for sure and the other too can have a lot hands which they will fold now (or not ^^).

1) This is one of the few cases I'd be willing to fold river as I'm clearly beaten. I usually can't do it when heads up, even with only A-high or overcards.

About the flop play (and this is about the QsTs hand in my other post too). When I'm not sure about what to do I go back to the basic articles as they give us easy rules to follow. And there we're told to raise flop once with strong draws and top pairs/overpairs. I know I have to re-read the advanced articles.

So you're saying I should bet those strong draws but I shoudn't raise then when they're already bet by an opponent. Or is it just because this is not a really strong draw?

1) No it's just because you are directly behind the one who bet. Your goal is to get in as many bets as possible but here you isolate yourself with the raise. If for example SB would have bet then you can raise for value.

2) Would a 3-bet on flop and call down till showdown be good?

3)What would you do if a continuation bet on the turn would get raised. Would you call down to showdown or fold? I usually calldown, but with my luck these last few days I would prefer a fold.

2) You mean calldown when capped or raised on the turn? Yes as written above. :)

3) Hmm if we get check/raised then you can find a fold. Or if BU raises and SB or MP2 coldcalls as well. If BU raises and the other two fold then you can call down.

I mean if call a CAP do you bet the turn or just call like Hawat did?

3) Thanks I had some problems making the right decision in these cases. But just a side note, I've noticed that when I fold to a check raise in this situation people start exploiting it and keep doing it to me as a bluff. At one point I got sick of it and now after a while I reraise it here and there. I was really surprised how many people folded to my 3-bet

2) I wrote it above? Calldown to a CAP. :)

3) 3-betting is even worse. Why not just calling and catching the bluff?

You can 3-bet if you have no showdownvalue yourself. But be careful with these moves as they call too much on these limits. I wouldn't do it at all but it really depends on the situation.

2) Sorry I missed it.

3) Well maybe not exactly the same situation... I'll give an example if I'll remember to grab a hand.

This might be a good example or it might be just a good example of me tilting after a tough evening :) Anyway, I knew the guy, he really likes to bluff.

PS: I know that raising KQ from UTG is wrong, I missed it.

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is UTG with K♥ Q♣
Hero raises, 5 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: 5♦ 5♠ 3♣ (6SB, 3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, BB folds, Hero 3-bets, SB calls.

Turn: A♦ (6BB, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds.
Uncalled bets: 1BB returned to Hero.

Final pot: 6BB

On this board I like a calldown more because I fear another raise on the turn if he really likes to bluff a lot.
