Pretty ugly spot here, but I'm quite sure I made a good fold here.
Pre-flop is pretty standard I suppose. On the flop, when an unknown player donks such a small amount and I have at least some equity in the hand, I tend to re-raise them a lot of the time, because in my experience it usually means they don't have anything. Maybe I raised a little large, which I did because it was a three-way pot. Considering SB's check on the flop, it surprised me that he actually called (whereas I indeed got BB to fold).
On the turn I hit my top pair, and since SB wouldn't necessarily have hit his draw yet I think betting was the right option here. Now the river is quite an ugly card. Yes I do hit my second pair, but every other draw gets completed. Now, I'm not quite sure what to make of SB's bet here. I can hardly imagine he would do something like this with a monster, because a weaker hand would hardly ever call him. But then again, he's an unknown player, so I don't know his thought process yet.
This is a spot that I've encountered a few times, and I often see different results. Sometimes the guy has the nuts, sometimes he has a busted draw, and sometimes he was just calling with air all the time and decided to bluff the river.
So, did I do the right thing here? I'd like some input on that
