Hi all,

It seems the majority of the forum users these days know how to post hands, which is very good. In this guide I will try outline the types of hands you should be posting onto these forums, and warn against posting certain types of hands.

Types of hands you should be posting:

  • Spots in which you are unsure what to do. These are by far the best to post. They can even include hands where you simply folded preflop, or hands other people played!
  • Theoretical/hypothetical situations.
  • Range questions, including scenarios from pokerstrategy's ICM trainer.

Types of hands you should NOT be posting:

Bad beat stories/OMG HOW DOES HE CALL THERE hands that do not fit any of the above list. We have a great forum for that here: [Link removed as board no longer exists - HollyMichelle - 4/7/12] Telling bad beat hands do not help you improve as a player, which is our aim in these forums. Just because you lost a hand does not necessarily mean you played it incorrectly, conversely just because you won a hand does not mean you played it correctly.

Remember: our goal here is to help you improve as a player, and the best way to do that is to help you realise the best possible way to play hands such that in the long run you win more money or more tournaments.
