PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 with 25 ante (4 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

saw flop|saw showdown

BB (t2620)
UTG (t3980)
Hero (t4120)
SB (t2780)

Preflop: Hero is Button with , .

SB and BB are both thinking regs. BB knows i am a maniac, but is still calling very tight here.

so here with 14 effective big blinds, we have a couple of options. we can choose to fold, which is perfectly fine.

we can miniraise/fold, but i don't like to do this as while it will be viewed as a strong move at the time, in the longrun such a move is exploitable.

or we can push.

raise/call is out of the picture as their restealing range crushes us, same goes for limp/call

and limp/fold is just horrible, it puts no pressure on anyone.

so after Nick told me that my push was so omg horrible, i plugged it into SNGwiz. it becomes a quite easy push once their callranges are tightened up to 7% (88+, AJo+, ATs+), which is about what i'm expecting regulars to call with, if not a bit tighter.

thinking about it further, we need quite a large edge to push here, because we're co-chipleader, and we can quite easily pick better spots, but with a 0.51% +EV, i think this is OK.

discussion? i'm playing for first here :).
