I think that you should probably have decided at the start if your hand was strong enough that you'd be willing to call him down for all three streets or not (assuming no higher cards or obvious draws came out). As played you've put a fair amount of money into the pot and then folded on the river without any real developments happening on the board and I think you would have done better to either keep calling or to have folded much earlier on.

Another possible approach would be to raise the UTG bet on the flop to see how he reacts. If he 3bets you then he's probably got you beat, if he folds then you've got a decent pot taken down, if he calls then maybe he's got 2 clubs, a mid pocket pair that's not a hit a set or some overcards.

Hmm, lets say I`m UTG and I have 99, TT, 56 , or lets say A :club:9 and he reraises to 450. I would call just to see what he does on the turn and if he doesnt go allin on the turn I would just push so to get him into tough spot. So I think its either allin or fold on the flop considering you got another shortstack with 9bb.

Orion, c/r for info, it just is very bad, so you are turning your hand in pure bluff, if he calls or raises us we need to give up our hand, and we don't get almost anything good out of our move. Coaches will explain it better why it's bad.

Imo, all seems good till river, if you think you are good on turn, you are good on river too. He could have mid, low pockets, missed flushdraw, 9x hands, so for me its ez call.

I like preflop flop and turn play. I think we can fold a lot of uglier rivers. On this one though I think enough draws miss in order to allow us to hero call. It helps that the board is paired + there's a 9 out there because we chop with some of his Jx hands. If he potted I'd fold.
