NL Holdem $20(BB) Replayer
SB ($2,090)
BB ($2,135)
Hero ($1,105)
UTG+1 ($1,020)

SB bets $100, Hero raises to $300, UTG+1 calls $300, BTN folds, SB folds

Optimum flop and turn line please?

My thinking was that some of the time here we are up against a flopped flush and if he decides to slowplay turn we may boat up on riv. But should I be protecting vs a flushdraw? If so, stack sizes are awkward for anything less than a shove. Prolly overthinking this spot; thoughts?

I would be happy to get chips in versus this sort of villains. So raise flop and shove turn. Also I would raise flop bit bigger. In turn villain can have so much weaker hands. Like Tx, flush draw and even 89 would not surprise me. If villain has flush he will often bet turn and you end up value towning yourself anyway.

So why not shoving turn to get value from draws and weaker made hands? Also if turn goes checked we might get bluffed out of pot if heart comes in river or we might miss value from Tx.

Agree with ghaleon. To me- this is a very easy re-raise/all in on the flop or re-raise/shove turn as played. I also size flop re-raise a bit bigger. I will make it 350. Villain is obviously a loose fishy player. Never checking turn though. He will be on draw fairly often and we risk giving him a free card or face a tough decision when a bad river comes.

flop is good. can probably go 350 but no big deal. checking the turn makes no sense to me. shove turn for value vs pairs+high hearts .

you basically said you would check the turn to minimize losses when he checks back turn with his nuts. what about all the value you lose when he checks back EVERY made hand that will easily stack off on the turn with 20-30% equity vs your set.

Thanks guys. Overall I tend to agree.

What happened was he shiped KQo (with K ) when checked to. This influenced my thinking since I guess he is folding that to the turn shove quite often. I think we'd rather him shove his last remaining 670 with only 18% than fold to our shove but I don't know how exactly to quantify the risk premium attached to this situation (any ideas <3?). And as you say, it's disastrous when he checks back turn and the river is a  since I think we always have to ch/f. Given his range must have a lot more high  or Tx with heart type hands than flopped nuts, shoving the turn looks better.

But I would be interested in your view, <3, about what is the best turn line if we knew his hand? i.e. suppose we know he will fold if we shove, but shove sometimes if we check (x%) then do we want to induce the shove or just take the juicy pot now?

thanks

obviously, if we know he has KhQo and will fold to our shove, but sometimes shove himself its a no-brainer check for value. In saying that I think most fish still call off KhQo some % of the time + all the rest of their made hands.

im not worried about risk-premium here, im just thinking in max cEV.
