why does HM2 say for example:
winnings: 3.15
net winnings: 0
is there anything i can do to change this?

On which site are you playing?
At least you can edit the results manually in the Tournament report -> double click or right click to edit.

i can edit the amount won but this doesnt change the net winnings for some reason
In my testsystem the net winnings are changed with editing the winnings field.
The problem may be the freeroll. Please zip and mail the original handhistory files (you find them in the HM archive folder or in the handhistory folder of your poker client) together with a link to this thread, screenshot and an explanation of the problem to support@holdemmanager.com. We will then try to reproduce the problem.
For further tourneys on Stars please make sure to additionally import the summaries:
Stars writes separate tourney summaries which you need to import into HM:

For older tourneys you have to request the summaries (in english!) manually: Pokerstars > Requests > Tournament Histories...
