UTG+2 seems loose/wild player with 55/22 on just about 30 hands but I have seen him overbet/overshove the pot and pf 3bet/call shove with AJ (smallstack vs smallstack)

UTG - loose preflop, somewhat tight post-flop 22/8/3 on ~300 hands

Known players:
[tg]UTG+2$4.29:///////;UTG$24.66:///////;Hero$27.46:///////;[/tg]
0.1/0.2 No-Limit Hold'em (10 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.49 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A♠, K♥
UTG calls $0.20, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 raises to $1.00, MP1 folds, Hero raises to $3.00, 5 folds, UTG calls $2.80, UTG+2 calls $2.00.

Flop: ($9.30) J♥, 8♦, T♥ (3 players)
UTG checks, UTG+2 bets $1.29 (All-In), 2 folds.

Final Pot: $10.59

My thoughs:
Since there is UTG open limped and cold called my 3bet, I guess he had some pocket pair.

If I was only up against UTG+2 I would 100% call with my OCs and gutshot, but I don't want to face c/r from UTG and fold after another bet or play for stacks so I just folded. And UTG also folded giving huge pot away to smallstack :/

Was it the right play?

If UTG is tight postflop I don't see the problem...
I would raise to 6 or 7$ probably. (calling is to weak imo)

OC+gutshot+backdoor flushdraw is more than enough imo.
And you get odds of ~ 1/10 when UTG folds.
If he is really holding a pocket pair (no set) he will most likely fold

First of all, I would put the short stack all-in preflop and avoid all this problems.
As played, there's no way you can fold. I would raise flop to around 8.
