It's a little niggle at the back of my mind when playing cash games (tournaments to a lesser extent).
Clearly the more limpers, the more likely a defence with a raise holding trash isn't a good idea.
Say MP raises 3xBB, the CO calls, SB folds...
With or without a read on the players, is it a good idea to simply re-raise every so often?
I have always thought that blind defence is overrated in cash games.
Thoughts?

Blind defence is actually very important in cash games.
Squeezing in the blinds is definitely a very profitable play if you do it with the right hands against the right opponents.
If they are likely to fold a lot, 3bet with hands you can't play profitable with a call but have some postflop equity like suited Kx, Qx. If they are likely to call, 3bet any hand ahead of their opening range, even if it's a hand like KJo. You do it assuming you have the best hand and they will call with worse.
Keep in mind, the ranges every player opens varies so you have to pay attention and adapt to them. This goes for all situations in poker, not just defending in the blinds.
