Without knowing the second one you can't make money by calling this spot.

Guessing game indeed, but in general I don't think people make these thin valuebets that often, espically without any particular reads or history, but I could be wrong..

Betsizing also can tell you something on the river.

I think he is pretty much polarising his range with this 3/4 bet.

Looks like an obv spot to lead river imo with all your range unless you think you can bluff catch.

Since you have doubts about bluffcatching though, it's obviously better to lead and save the check/decide line for when you have reads.

I was thinking of CR river small to $42 or something but hes really polarised so we dont really need to turn our hand into a bluff if we are going to do anything otr

3bet pre. We're going to be in lots of difficult spots post flop without the betting lead and we basically never happy calling down and our hand is really face up when we c/r for value.

As Emmanuel pointed out, bet river, but as played I'd fold.

I cant really agree with you pleno1 though, that I have to 3bet this hand pre, at least not against a minraise. If he 3x:s then I would be much more inclined to either 3bet or fold, but we with these odds I think we can call even if the playability isn't best. I still think in general that against most opponents even a hand like A2s that only flops TPWK, nutFDs and occasionally the nuts with 2pair+ shouldn't be too hard to play, unless we are up against a very tough opponent.

Seeing as you advocate folding this hand pre here, what hands would you call preflop in this spot? I assume your default strategy is to basically play 3bet or fold oop against regs, but do you have a calling range at all?

Personally I tend to mostly play 3bet or fold against regs that I don't have any good reads that I can exploit them with postflop. But against minraises and 2.5x I at least usually call some suited aces, broadways (depending on how he plays against 3bets) and some SC and medium pocket pairs.

We're in the small blind so I would elect to 3bet as we can get squeezed alot by the big blind. If I was in the BB then I would choose to flat more than 3bet, but because we are going to be in the SB and potentially either play a 3way pot out of position or get squeezed means that from the SB I generally will 3bet or fold most of my hands.
