Haha thanks for the welcome. I've been playing No-Limit, because I like the intensity and psychology involved in it. I'm really into sports, and enjoy watching poker on television, so I was drawn into No-Limit since it's full of risks. I like the manipulation and deception involved in it, as well as calling people out on their bluffs and taking them out.
Since I posted last, I fell down to $15. I was busy all weekend, and took a few days off. I purchased the book "Hold'Em Wisdom for all Players" by Daniel Negreanu, and it gave me some good insight on the game. I started playing again today on the .01/.02 and went all the way up to $33 where I currently am now.
I have been playing better hands, and controlling the table, stealing blinds and raising people into folding on subpar hands, while having them put a lot of money in when I have the cards. I have been watching betting patterns to the point where I usually know when someone is bluffing or not (ex. they always raise a certain amount if they bluff, call-raise if they have good cards). Every time someone has called me all-in, I was able to read their bluff, and eliminate them, or see they had cards, and fold. I have not lost large amounts of money like I was, and I think I'm getting a better feel for the game.
As I continue to play, I will try to form a blog, if I can progress into higher ranks. I am currently 20 and can not wait to play in the casinos in Vegas when I'm 21. Then I can take people on, in person.
