No reads. Donkbets are almost always weak in these games. Looks like he's taking a stab at the pot and then giving up on the turn.

I would check on the turn ur only gonna get called when ur beat and if he has the second best hand he's gonna fold. + You maybe will induce a bluff on the river, or if he checks ur more likely to get called on ur value bet with his second best hand because you showed weakness on the turn.

How did it end? I guess your opponent made a bad call and has 88's?

I don't see much value in shoving here: if he has a pocket, we don't want to get a fold, so checking behind is better IMO. you will never get a better hand to fold.
