3. if you can concentrate with music on, by all means do it.

i would say the most interesting games are NL BSS-SH and Omaha-cash SH. but both games are quite advanced. you should glean some satisfaction/fun out of the poker learning process.

Perhaps you should try turbo SnG tournaments. At least i found them quite interesting when i got little bored playing cash games and getting no cards for a while. With blinds getting higher quite quickly you will certainly get action.

The thought ot making money sitting in a computer chair playing a card game makes poker inetresting for me. I guess I like poker, and that is where interest comes from.

You can't just force yourself to play. You must enjoy it unless you are good at it then you can make money by forcing yourself.

watch tele or stick on a movie thats what i do and talk on msn. before u no it your heads up and uv earnt some more money.

i do not like doing other things while playing poker, did some bad mistakes though.

multitabling made it much easier 4 me 2 concentrate on the game

No music, no chat, noone home, near PC some drink, no food! But the porn thing is interesting..

Multitabling is the key imo. I got easily bored when i played only table. I thought that i shouldnt open more tables because then i wont get any reads and will loose. Then i realized i dont get any reads anyway (well, i get some, but the ones i get are so obvious i dont need to concentrate on one table to get them) and i can easily open more tables to get more action. Now when i play cash i have 4 tables open and find it to be optimal amount for me - fits screen nicely, can keep up with action.

Recently i played SNG and tourneys ranging from 18-1K+ players and those i played with single table open. In tourneys i think its more important to get reads because of rising blinds and need for stealing/re-stealing/pushing when short. In tourneys i dont get bored so easily so it works well this way.

I have to say that this seems very interesting.

why do you need porn to make it interesting? Just be a nerd and notice the brilliance of this game.

1. It's a strategy game, which rules by itself. I mean, who doesn't like civ4, warhammer, axis & allies, etc etc etc. (if you dont, then id say poker is not for you. The fact that you keep spreading aggression, because you think good about a chance to win you get in a possible confrontation, that binds these games.)
2. It makes you money, which of course makes it even better. The soldiers you send to battle every time to conquer pots with more soldiers in it are actually worth something. You're like an army general who sends his troops (that are very important/precious to him, he knows their families and stuff, since everyone loves money) to the battle field.
3. Your opponents are all beatable. It's fun to beat a computer opponent at something, it's less fun to beat another person at a game if he doesn't take it seriously. But there is nothing better, then playing a strategic game vs an other human opponent who wants to win as much as you do. Except sex, which is better, but doing that for a living won't make it more fun, while with poker, eating your winnings makes the game more fun too.
4. it's simply awesome. I never thought I could find a game that is THIS interesting, which stays interesting so long. Every computer game i install is usually gone after a couple of weeks. My pokerstars software is here to stay.

Cashgames are never about patience. Try to play 9 tables at the same time and see how busy you're facing a lot of decisions.
Poker is about to overplay the opponent. We all get with 100 000 hands the same cards, but it is up to you, how you decide to play your set/overpair/draw. Which hand to fold pf, which hand to 3-bet, which hand to call.
How to keep poker interesting- don't think it as of money that you're putting in, but as a measures to beat your opponent.
But to beat your opponents, you have to work hard. And if you don´t like learning then probably poker is not the game for you.

I play 2 table FL SH and it's never boring for me...
I maybe surfing on internet while playing, but usually I look back at played hands and/or searching for better tables

I like playing omaha since more more hand are playable, but the problem with omaha is that the omaha limits are too high and I don't have enough bankroll for them.

So, if I get my 4rd bankroll (On other bankroll sites or here through recruiting friends, I would like some tips on how to keep my interest up in the game. What gametype is most interesting? Fixed, No-limit or SNG's? Could I do something else at the same time so I don't get bored? I got 2 screens. Or should I just shut all music and other programs and concentrate on reads and other stuff?

I recently switched from a "I must win and get to the next limit" attitude to a "I must learn how to play poker well" one.
I used to sit there waiting for monster hands only to see them get bad beat. Every cent lost felt like I was going backwards.
Now I just try to understand what opponents are doing and really study the game, bearing in mind that I will probably lose some money in the process.
Multitabling helps a lot too.
