Thinking of putting all the above on an SSD. Wonder about all the rewriting with the database. I guess it's no problem with the discs now, but checking to be sure.
You need to move the postgresql data folder like explained in this FAQ http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1172/Move+Database+to+Another+Hard+Drive+or+Partition
or you reinstall postgresql (download 8.4 from www.postgresql.org) to the new partition.
HM2 itself you can install directly to the new partition.
Gonna reinstall both postgres and hm on the ssd together with win7 when I do this. Is this better than having postgres on another partition; a hard drive. No problem with the rewriting to the ssd then?
Thx!
SSD will be 120 GB
Current SSDs have no problems with database rewritings.
But you should be aware that 120 GB is a limited size. Windows probably needs 30-40 GB. You will install other programs and the rest of the SDD is for postgresql.
So if you plan to save Millions of hands you may get space problems.
You can roughly calculate with 10 GB space needed for 1 Million hands (HM2 uses less than HM1 but with this you are on the safe side)
