Bet more on the flop, I would make it 1,5$- if he has anything then he would also call that bet, if not then he would fold to your 1$ bet.
I believe that 3-bet is probably better than call flop and go for c/r turn.
He might have some flushdraw which would pay 5$ to see turn card or maybe shove A6, K6.
I think you played that fine.
