Hi, this hand came up during the coaching. It seemed quite close. The pot is small and we improve to bottom pair in a limped hand in BVB. The decision was about whether or not to call the turn. I decided to call seeing this as a great turn card for our opponent to bluff or semi-bluff but with the pot being so small I felt like this needed to be re-considered.

raise Any two suited preflop in BvB when SB completes and bet bet

with this call and see a river he could very likely just trying to get it down with some Ax Kx Jx 1Club/x hand you know the drill.

Reasons to fold:
1.) He could be sandbagging a monster (a Q or better)
2.) He could have a 6, a 5 or a 4 better than ours.

Reasons to call:
3.) He could have a flush draw or a straight draw and is semibluffing.
4.) He is blufing.

On balance, I like folding. Raising is better than calling (since if we decide to call, we must think we are ahead often, i.e.3.) and 4.) apply.).

Edit: Then again, we need to assign percentages to cases 1-4 above to really know what is best.

Hi!

Raising doesnt make sense to me? we are obviously not favourites here and in small pot like this protection has veryyyy little value and inducing has a lot... so the only question is between cd or fold.

Imo there is no easy answer and you kindda have to go with your guts.both lines have their own benefits and vs unknown are very close in EV(that is 0)

-calling is good since he shouldnt really have that many better hands here(Qx,6x should bet flop and FDs as well ,if 5x and weak 6x didnt bet flop they will very likely check turn as well) so chance of a bluff is quite high. Appart from that you get a read and create a thougher image

-folding has 0 variance and even if it not the optimal move the EV lost is very very small so you are basically sacrificing very small equity for a stable EV which is o.k. as well

...my personal opinion is that I would calldown just for the fact I dont really for variance in this regard and I like reads:) Fact is that we are ahead decent portion of the time and that is all that matter

Good reasoning Dawnfall and i'd first assume that he's betting a pair and the 4 made so many draws possible. Gutshots + Flushdraw and it's a good bluffcard as well so i do call and i call a riverblank as well. Given he should have bet a pair on the flop, he does have by far more draws or air in his range than better pairs or the madeflush or 78 etc.
