I just called the 3bet because the guy was capable of folding jacks or queens on a 4bet, so I would only get called when he has aces. I would shove any flop without an ace.

nh, on the flop I would raise smaller(20$) or shove though but it doesn't change a lot.

I don't think it is about trapping. The read is that villain can fold non AA hands to a 4bet, so by just calling, he maximises return against them. He is going all in anyway most often, if he is against AA, so be it.

Re-raise flop 14-20.
And if you have just run over BB by 4-bet bluffs, then I like making 4-bet, rahter than call 3-bet.

It's not really a trap, but if I know that somebody is folding all hands besides those that are coolers anyway, then I see no point in 4-betting.

the reason i would advocate 4betting in this specific spot is because villains 3bet is tiny (6.5$). usually i find when people make such donkish reraises, they won't generally follow it up on the flop. so i 4bet for value, to try get as much money in as possible when they're in the mood to play.
