Blinds are 50/100, turbo 9 man SNG

BB: 5,640 (56.4 bb)
BU: 6,680 (66.8 bb)
Hero (SB): 1,180 (11.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with T  5  ............ ?

According to ICM trainer I should push with any two cards, which doesn't really make any sense, because I don't have huge FE.

What range do I shove here?

A little more general question, where should can I push with a different range than the one suggested by the ICM model, assuming no reads?

The one obvious spot being, in early position (utg or utg+1) with a very short stack - 3-4-5 big blinds, I can push a bit wider.

Hey

I dont know why do you say that trainer tells you to push 100% here. I checked the hand in both Trainer and Nash calc and your Nash range here is 49% in both (T5s being just outside), assuming that BB is calling 30%. link

General rules when to deviate from nash (obv when facing unknowns or a mix of regs and unknowns):

- push tighter from MP, a lot tighter from EP
- push a lot wider from SB, a bit wider from BU (works especially well when they are neither very short nor very deep)
- when an unknown is pushing LP or SB you should generally call a bit tighter than nash

on the next level - call tighter than nash if a good reg is pushing EP

in the given hand i would push nash, since he has much bigger stack than yours and because of that may call wider (close to nash) than he would if you could hurt his stack greatly

I agree for the most part with wiarygodny! Good analysis.

And welcome to the hand evaluations, meepwn!

None tbh, I just avoid generalizing spots like:

What hands do we push from EP, SB, LP with 3-4-5 bb etc etc. As you know it depends a lot on game flow, stack sizes set up, players left.

One hand can be played in a different fashion depending on many factors and that's why I prefer to see a hand first with reads/notes before giving an advice : )
