Taking place on the first Monday of each month, the £1,080 Palm Beach Big Game is known to attract some of the hottest pros - and richest recreational players - in London. It boasts champions such as bracelet-winners Sunny Chattha and Praz Bansi, Hendon Mobster Joe Beevers and Irish Open champion James Mitchell. This edition of the Big Game plays out on September 3.

If any Londoners get tired of playing poker tournaments (perish the thought!) then a break from the games comes in the shape of the British Poker Awards on September 17, which honour poker's best and brightest each year as well as awarding prizes to the UK's card rooms and casinos.
