Not sure opening this hand makes sense with the BTN being as short and actually even aggressive. Do we have to open only such hands with which we are also willing to go broke vs BTN preflop, not only postflop with a hit?

Depends how we see the BTN, if we assume he is 3betting a lot then rather tighten it up and plan to open when you are also planning to ship it for value. :)
