I don't think he can limp better aces. see that better aces here are AT+, and he probably should have raised. I don't understand fully how the hand went there, is there anyway you can post the hand history? Remember that you can use PS converter ( http://en.pokerstrategy.com/poker-hand-converter/ ) with a couple of sites

anyway theres no button limps from CO. I hope you mean button and CO limps in. you check A3o is perfect , raising is in my opinion way too weak an ace to raise when potential 3 players have limped at least 2.

you got top pair in a limped pot. You are not donking first of all. You are betting since its a limped pot. Which is the best line here. c/r would be a bad idea you would miss value when they check &/or call you down with draws or second pairs.

9 turn should not scare you. you should bet again. if he raises you. i suggest a calldown and see what he raises with on the turn in a limped pot from whatever position we are talking about (CO or BU was your opponent?)

A49 would be an even better board to bet bet bet than A89 with 2 - 3 limpers.

and last but not least.

This is the last time you ever post a hand without using a hand converter. We all have a hard time helping you correctly when you dont show us a hand history. If you dont use any programs like Holdemmanager or pokertracker ( i cant remember if you do ) then when you see a hand you want to post you go and copy the raw hand history to a txt file on your computer when you play. then you go to JLeitmotiv's link you convert it and then post it. If you can't figure it out I will be happy to show you so just hit me up on gmail like today.

to Avataren: for me, limping is the same as betting,so agressor is the one who bets or raises in previous street.

if limping is aggression to you , you should rethink that because its not its called being passive

If it was HU, you should raise A3o from the BB. But it's not a big mistake to just check because you're oop and A3 isn't that strong and just a small favourite over his range. You must differ between 2 opponents:

- the opponent who even limp with strong Aces like A7 etc. Opponent with low PFR. Checking is fine

- Opponents with higher PFR who have a weaker limping-range.

If you think he'd openraised all his strong hands, you should raise.

Given that situation you played it correctly. I'd rather donk out with no reads. He'll call down any pair and you can't be sure whether (since he seems passive) is checking back with a pair and with a draw as well. Against passive opponents you should rather bet yourself as you cannot induce bets that much. And on this board he does often have something that he's calling at least once and with betting you keep your range wider.

If you checkraise, it looks stronger. It's ok to bet and on the turn it's questionable. On lower stakes i'd bet again as fishy players call again with QT QJ etc. But on a Riverblank i would probably check and hope that he's gonna be betting with his busted draws.
