I don't 3bet mid pairs unless we are deep (decrease stack:pot ratio so if we hit sets it's easy to get all-in with 200bb) or if he 4bet bluffs a lot (so we can jam it in).

If he calls your 3bet, 77 has really poor postflop playability. Also, you did not satisfy the 2 conditions stated above. Thus, this is definitely a call in the BB and probably a call in the SB. You could argue that SB is bad for calling cos BB could overcall (and you are OOP 3way) or you may get squeezed (and you would be forced to fold). I'll just assume that BB is tight so I think calling is good.

But you didn't. You went to check the Flop.

I don't think there's anything else to say. Just bet bet bet yourself. If he was bluffing I don't think you should c/r the Turn and let him know you are strong with bottom set. Just check again and hope he bluffs the River or value bets KX himself.

I see your point, but the problem is also when he is from BTN his range is so wide, that I am quite happy with taking down the pot preflop as that is a pretty nice succes.

There is no point in taking it down preflop when u have some playable hand. U should 3bet much weaker hands, like A4s or 96s. When he calls, u will hit some draws and other stuff more often, so u will be able to bluff more postflop. 77 is terrible bluffing hand because it won't improve when u miss.

As played : I don't mind checking that flop, but u must be sure he's capable of bluffing. U can go for c/c all streets or c/r flop. I don't like c/r that turn because it's always nuts in his eyes. I'm pretty sure no one has bluffing range after taking that line @nl50.
