why did you check the flop after a 3b HU OOP?

mostly because i see more Aces in his range than pockets. if i bet i got raised with any Ace. and since i consider he's passive i don't want to make a tough calldown knowing that i'll lose anyway.

if he's with pockets my check will encourage him to bet so that i'll get the same amount of money anyway.

but, anyway, you had the initiative preflop, in a 3b. If that A hits his range, it hits yours better. and do you want to give a hand like KQ a freecard?

also, if he's as passive as your AF shows (no hands though), do you think you can induce two bluffs on the big streets?

Take your read on the villain to be correct. Then evaluate four scenarios. Compare betting and calling flop + either betting and folding or checking and folding on the later streets depending on how he reacts to your bet, with checking and calling three streets. The green line is your line. The blue line is an alternative line compatible with your reads.

• He has Ax
• He has two overs to your JJ
• He has one over to your JJ
• He has a smaller pp

The above list isn't exhaustive, but it should suffice.

It's going to be painful. (EV calculations always are.) But you must do it, at least this once. It's going to help you a lot to convince yourself. I can help you if you post your calculations here.

Good advice Johan! Doing calculations is useful! This hand. You should bet that hand as you'dbet Ax as well. So to be balanced , you have to bet this hand and you're right that he does frequently have Ax but he does have smaller Pocketpairs as well and what is important! You can make him folding KQ. A hand that does still have 6 oust against your hand and normally he'll play honest if you bet and by checking you certainly give him the chance to bet all his better hands but check back with all the worse hands and usually he knows that - since you'd 3bet preflop - you'll almost never give up your hand but rather check/call or trap him. SO the value of bluffinduce is very small. You should bet the Flop, bet the Turn and see how he reacts. Idon't actually know how players use to behave on 002 004 cent but if he raises the turn, i think you can fold your hand but if he stays passive, keep betting.
