I think I am getting out a lot of hands out of the reg's range which is not what I would like. On the other hand I know the other player is calling now his stack if I shove and I also think reg is not likely to continue aggression on the turn without a strong hand.

I think you played the hand fine. Calling and trying to keep players in is a very bad idea. Lots of turns kill our action/we get sucked out on, so try to narrow it down to 2 players on the flop!
