This hand sucked. Villain is 40/2, so passive I feel like I should have seen it coming. I still think my line is okay here... I really don't see why he waited until the river to raise :/

Party, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 7 Players

BTN: $1.38 (69 bb)
Hero (BB): $5.80 (290 bb)
MP1: $2.19 (109.5 bb)
MP2: $0.45 (22.5 bb)
CO: $2.05 (102.5 bb)
MP3: $2.06 (103 bb)
SB: $1.51 (75.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8 8
4 folds, BTN calls $0.02, SB folds, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.05) A Q T (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($0.05) 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.06, BTN calls $0.06

River: ($0.17) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.20, BTN raises to $0.77, Hero raises to $5.72 and is all-in, BTN calls $0.53 and is all-in

Results:

Spoiler

$2.77 pot ($0.13 rake)
Final Board: A Q T 8 4
BTN showed J K and won $2.64 ($1.26 net)
Hero showed 8 8 and lost (-$1.38 net)

Hello,

Preflop I'd raise here.

Flop is bad and checking with the intention to check/fold is good.

On the turn betting is good.

On the river I'd play the same way and I'm not really folding my set against a 40/2 player on NL2 who can just end up having 84 or sth.

Best,
Plamen
