Hello everybody, i've been reading hand evaluation forum for quite awhile and dicided to give it a shot at posting my own hand. I hope this will become part of my routine. Btw sorry for my English.

PartyGaming - $0.25/$0.50 (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

Hero (CO): $12.15
BTN: $10.25
SB: $13.95
BB: $13.67
UTG: $26.93

SB posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero has Q♦ A♥

UTG calls $0.25, Hero raises to $0.50, BTN calls $0.50, SB raises to $0.75, BB calls $0.50, UTG calls $0.50, Hero raises to $1.00, BTN calls $0.50, SB calls $0.25, BB calls $0.25, UTG calls $0.25

Flop: ($5.00, 5 players) J♥ 6♠ Q♠
SB bets $0.25, fold, UTG calls $0.25, Hero raises to $0.50, BTN raises to $0.75, SB calls $0.50, UTG calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.25

Turn: ($8.00, 4 players) 3♦
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $0.50, BTN raises to $1.00, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.50

River: ($10.00, 2 players) 8♠
Hero checks, BTN checks

Pre flop. 3rd hand at the table, no reads at all. I decided to cap as i have decent position and good equity assuming at least one guy is a fish.
Flop. Good flop for me, but after this action i started to feel not so comfortable.
Turn. Donked the turn hoping BU will raise and kick at least one SB or UTG, but after some time i thought that move was not the best. These two guys after BU raise would get 9:1 pot odds and there is no way they would fold a decent draw and after all i don't see myself being ahead.

What are your thoughts about this one? That was my first session after like two months break so my reasoning might be a bit off. Anyways, thats why i'm here, to get it in shape lol. Thanks in advance.

I think it is well played preflop and on the flop. when BTN suddenly decides to 3b on the flop his range have most likely hit something on that flop. however as you mention yourself the turn donk may not be the best option.

I dont see that 3d as a bad card since it isnt really doing much so i would consider a raise if btn bets. though with my more passive tendencies. I think id go for a safe call down.

and keep posting hands. there are a lot of good guys who wants to help like me

Preflop is fine and raise flop right away on SB'S donk is fine as well but you should cap the flop because button did just coldcall preflop and on this flop texture he could have a big variation of drawing hands as well as worse Ax Hands or sometimes overplayed Jx. Furthermore you take the chance to either kick out SB or UTG and you avoid that button may take a freecard with T9 KT or a flushdraw. At least you donked out on the Turn. Given you'd cap the flop and you'll get raised again on the turn, it's just a simple calldown and as played it's a calldown as well. Take that 1more SB on the Flop and the hand is well played. ;)

You don't need to be much ahead (versus the button), and you don't need them necessarily to fold. The important thing is that they either fold (which would be nice) or pay the maximum to draw, since you have very decent equity holding TPTK.

/Johan = :f_confused:
