Villain is playing 18/8/0 over 300 hands... He has extremly low ftcb; 11% flop, 24% turn.

Flop you are usually crushing here with an overpair and nut flush draw plus straight draw. I don't mind checking this as most of the money you make here is from snapping off bluffs (there really aren't that many worse hands that yours that can call a flop bet).

BTN looks like he is sandbagging a big hand and the bet sizing suggest he doesn't think you have a strong enough hand to call a big bet.

Generally I find nits like this dont like betting big because it's obvious they have the nuts when they do bet (because they bet so rarely), so all they do is sandbag the nuts until the river when they explode in to action.

If villain had a worse flush or a straight I think he checks behind so it's probably a puke fold. I can't ever imagine being shown a worse hand here after betting flop and turn.

Nit really needs a ten to be able to call your flop bet so you isolated yourself against a strong nit calling range on the flop which is why I think its a river fold.

Very good observation... It is what i've seen happen loads of times now when i think about it
