Hi everybody,

It was the first hand BB played on this table, so I didn't have any stats or reads on him. How would you play vs an unknown? Bet the flop for protection? Or just fold preflop without any info?

iPoker - $0.50 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: $50.00
UTG: $70.22
Hero (CO): $57.47
BTN: $42.95
SB: $15.19

SB posts SB $0.25, BB posts BB $0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.75) Hero has J♦ J♠

fold, Hero raises to $1.50, fold, fold, BB raises to $5.50, Hero calls $4.00

Flop: ($11.25, 2 players) K♥ Q♥ 6♦
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($11.25, 2 players) 3♠
BB bets $6.00, Hero calls $6.00

River: ($23.25, 2 players) K♠
BB bets $18.00, fold

BB wins $22.09

How is the average reg there with the 3bets? If they are quite tight, I don't think it's too weak to fold pre given somewhat bad odds and full stacked unknown.

JJ is not that great in 3bet pot, definitely not a snap fold.. Folding here would be nitty but if we assume the average population in your field is on the tighter side, you can play tighter vs their aggression.

As played pre, I think post is fine.. Betting flop doesn't make much sense imo... draws bet (flush draws, AT, AJ, JT) or check/raise as good combo draws. When he checks he usually has Qx or weak-ish Kx like K8s he bluffed pre. I don't expect to get many check/folds there.. air bets there so often..
