Party No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 400/800 Blinds (4 handed) - Party Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com

SB (t6670)
BB (t7365)
UTG (t4080)
Hero (t1885)

Hero's M: 3.40

Preflop: Hero is BU with 3♥, 8♥
2 folds, SB bets t6245, 1 fold

Total pot: t1600

nash gives me this range:13.4%, 66+ A7s+ A9o+ KTs+ KJo+

i would push there any poket pair because i have only 2 bb and i will xt 2 get hit by the BB in the next 2 hands.isn't that range to tight?
and vs some 30/13 unknowns what is your thinkinng proces here?wider or tighter?

ive been working on those situations in my game recently and, just like you, in the beginning i was really surprised to see how tight is the NASH here, but ive decided to give it a go and play accordingly (obv not always, since sometimes youve got to go for a slighly -EV push, but nothing too crazy) and i must say that the results are promising so far (not a big sample tough).

When it comes to adjusting to who are playing the bubble with the rule of thumb would be - the more fishy (loose) they are the tighter we should be, a LOT tigher than NASH in a lot of spots imo. You know that sometimes youre gonna see some crazy stuff going on on a bubble, like here i think that if BB is a recreational player he doesn't have a clue how tight he needs to call here and if thats gonna help us sneak ITM at least a sometimes its worth to tighten up and not push (much) wider than NASH.

To sum up - against unknowns im sticking to NASH in this particular spot, cause we're kinda deperate. If we're not that desperate im pushing tighter than NASH.

watch my video on FGS.

you want to take some -$EV shoves in this spot to account for FGS. 38s is TOO loose. but you want to shove wider than nash, always. any pair is easy. my range here is going to be around 35%.
